Mina Protocol (MINA) is a layer-1 blockchain known for staying extremely small. Using recursive zero-knowledge proofs, Mina keeps its entire chain state at about 22 kilobytes, so anyone can verify the network quickly even on a phone.
The network launched in 2021. Its zkApps let developers build applications that prove facts about data without revealing it, such as confirming someone's credentials privately. MINA is used for transaction fees and for staking with block producers.
