What is Max supply?
The hard limit on how many coins can ever exist. Some coins have one; many do not.
Bitcoin's max supply is 21 million, enforced by its code. Coins without a maximum, such as Ethereum or Dogecoin, can keep issuing new units, although some offset issuance by burning fees.
A fixed max supply does not by itself make a coin valuable, and an unlimited supply is not automatically inflationary: what matters is how fast new coins are created compared with demand. On coin pages, an infinity sign (∞) means there is no maximum.
