Basic Attention Token (BAT) is the token behind the Brave web browser's rewards system. Brave, founded by Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript, blocks ads and trackers by default, and users can choose to see privacy-respecting ads in exchange for BAT rewards.
BAT launched in 2017 through one of the fastest ICOs on record. Users can tip content creators with BAT, and advertisers buy ad campaigns using it. The token runs on Ethereum and several other networks, and Brave has tens of millions of monthly users.
