What is Akash Network?
Akash Network (AKT) is a decentralized marketplace for cloud computing. Anyone with spare servers or GPUs can rent them out, and developers can deploy applications on that capacity, often at lower prices than major cloud providers.
Akash is built on the Cosmos SDK and launched its mainnet in 2020. Demand for its GPU marketplace grew with the AI boom, as it offers access to hardware for training and running models. AKT is used for staking, governance and settling payments between users and providers.
