What is VeThor?

VeThor (VTHO) is the gas token of VeChainThor, the blockchain used for supply chain and enterprise applications. It pays for transactions and smart contract execution on the network.

VeChain uses two tokens: VET for value and staking, and VTHO for fees. Since the Hayabusa upgrade in December 2025, VTHO is no longer earned by simply holding VET and is instead issued to those who actively stake. Part of the VTHO spent on fees is burned.
