Tokamak Network (TON) is the token of Tokamak Network, a South Korean project building layer-2 scaling tools for Ethereum. Its goal is to let developers launch their own app-specific layer-2 chains that inherit Ethereum's security.

The TON token is staked by operators of these chains as a security deposit and can be lost if they act dishonestly. It is also used for staking rewards and governance in the ecosystem. Tokamak's TON should not be confused with Toncoin, the token of The Open Network.
