What is THORChain Yield?

THORChain Yield (TCY) is a token created by THORChain in 2025 to settle the debt left by THORFi, its lending and savers products, which were paused in January 2025 after the protocol could no longer meet withdrawals. Roughly 210 million dollars of obligations were converted at a rate of one TCY per dollar owed, giving creditors a claim on future network revenue instead of a write-off.

Ten percent of THORChain's protocol revenue is directed to TCY permanently. Holders must stake their tokens to receive their pro-rata share, which is paid out in RUNE. Because THORChain has no block-reward inflation, these payouts come entirely from fees paid by users of the network.
