What is Ronin?

Ronin (RON) is the native token of Ronin, a blockchain created by Sky Mavis, the Vietnamese studio behind the game Axie Infinity. Ronin was launched in 2021 to give Axie players cheap, fast transactions and has since grown into a network for many web3 games and NFT projects.

RON is used to pay transaction fees, to stake for securing the network and for governance. In March 2022 the Ronin bridge was hacked and about $600 million was stolen in an attack later attributed to the North Korean Lazarus Group, after which the bridge's security was rebuilt.
