What is Matrix?

Matrix (MTX) is the token of Matrix, a project that describes itself as a decentralized financial ecosystem built around a non-custodial wallet. According to the team, the wallet covers network gas fees for users and replaces long blockchain addresses with readable usernames.

The wider platform plans to combine several services tied to those usernames: an on-chain credit score, a lending and borrowing market modelled on protocols such as Aave, stablecoins that stream yield to holders, and a derivatives exchange advertised with zero trading fees. MTX is intended to coordinate and reward use of these products. Many of the features are presented as part of the roadmap, so availability may differ from the project's description.
