What is Lombard?

Lombard (BARD) is the token of Lombard, a company founded in 2024 that builds infrastructure for using Bitcoin in decentralized finance. Its main product is LBTC, a liquid staked form of bitcoin: users deposit BTC, which is staked through the Babylon protocol to earn yield, and receive LBTC that can be used across DeFi apps on several chains.

LBTC is secured by a consortium of digital asset institutions that verify deposits and withdrawals. Lombard also offers a staking SDK for wallets and platforms. The BARD token, distributed partly through a Binance HODLer airdrop, is used for governance and to help secure Lombard's network and its cross-chain operations.
