What is Jito?

Jito (JTO) is the governance token of Jito Network, a major infrastructure project on Solana. Its best-known product is JitoSOL, a liquid staking token that lets users stake SOL, earn rewards and still use their position in DeFi.

Jito also runs a modified Solana validator client and a block engine that handles MEV, the extra value from ordering transactions in a block. Validators running Jito earn additional tips, part of which flows to JitoSOL holders. JTO, airdropped to users in late 2023, is used to govern the stake pool, fees and the Jito DAO treasury.
