iota (SN9) is the token of subnet 9 on Bittensor, run by Macrocosmos. The subnet works on decentralized pretraining of large AI models, splitting the training of a single model across many miners' computers on the internet.
Miners contribute computation and are rewarded according to the quality of their work. As with other Bittensor subnets, the token's value is tied to the amount of TAO staked into the subnet and its share of Bittensor's emissions. It is not related to the IOTA cryptocurrency.
