Chia (XCH) is the native token of Chia Network, a blockchain founded by Bram Cohen, the creator of BitTorrent, and launched in March 2021. Instead of the energy-intensive mining used by Bitcoin, Chia relies on proofs of space and time: farmers dedicate unused disk storage to the network, and a verifiable delay function adds a time component.
