What is Blast?

Blast (BLAST) is the token of Blast, an Ethereum layer-2 network launched in 2024 by the team behind the NFT marketplace Blur, with funding from Paradigm. Blast's main feature is native yield: ETH and stablecoins bridged to the network earn yield automatically, sourced from Ethereum staking and real-world asset protocols.

The network also shares gas fee revenue with the applications that generate it. BLAST was distributed through airdrops to users and developers in June 2024 and is used for governance and ecosystem incentives.
