Bancor Network (BNT) is the token of Bancor, one of the earliest decentralized trading projects on Ethereum. It launched in 2017 and introduced automated market makers, smart contracts that hold liquidity and set prices without an order book.
Today Bancor's main protocol is Carbon DeFi, which lets users set automated on-chain trading strategies with custom limit and range orders. Arb Fast Lane, a separate arbitrage protocol, sends profits back to the Bancor ecosystem. BNT is staked to vote in BancorDAO governance and was used as the base pair in Bancor's liquidity pools.
