About BitTorrent
BitTorrent (BTT) is the token connected to BitTorrent, the peer-to-peer file sharing protocol created by Bram Cohen in 2001. TRON founder Justin Sun's company acquired BitTorrent Inc. in 2018, and BTT launched on the TRON network in 2019 through a Binance Launchpad sale.
BTT is used to reward users who share bandwidth and storage, including faster downloads through BitTorrent Speed and storage on the BitTorrent File System. The project also runs BitTorrent Chain, a cross-chain network. In 2021 the token was redenominated at 1 old BTT to 1,000 new BTT, giving it a very large supply.
