About Jupiter USD
JupUSD (JUPUSD) is a dollar-pegged stablecoin on Solana launched by Jupiter, the Solana trading and DeFi platform, in partnership with Ethena Labs. It is issued through Ethena's stablecoin-as-a-service infrastructure and backed by reserves held with institutional custodians, initially made up of USDC and Ethena's USDtb, a dollar token backed by tokenized US Treasury exposure.
JupUSD is minted and redeemed against these reserves through controlled mechanisms. Unlike some newer stablecoins, it does not pay yield to holders. It is meant to serve as a native dollar for trading, payments and DeFi across the Jupiter ecosystem.
