About hyUSD
Hylo USD (HYUSD) is a dollar-pegged stablecoin on Solana issued by the Hylo protocol. It is backed by Solana liquid staking tokens rather than cash.
Hylo splits its collateral into two products: hyUSD, which aims to stay stable at one dollar, and a leveraged SOL token (xSOL) that absorbs price swings in exchange for amplified exposure to SOL. Because the backing is crypto, the peg depends on the protocol's collateral levels and mechanisms working as intended.
