About WalletConnect
WalletConnect Token (WCT) is the token of the WalletConnect Network, the open protocol that lets crypto wallets connect securely to decentralized apps, often by scanning a QR code. WalletConnect has been widely used across the industry since 2018, and its token launched in 2024.
The network relays encrypted messages between wallets and apps through a set of node operators. WCT is used for staking, rewards to node operators and active users, governance of the network, and potentially fees for using it. It was first issued on Optimism and later expanded to other chains such as Ethereum and Solana.
