About VelodromeV2
Velodrome Finance (VELO) is a decentralized exchange on Optimism, launched in 2022. It is based on the design of Solidly, a model in which token holders lock their tokens and vote on which liquidity pools receive new token emissions, and it serves as a main trading and liquidity hub for the Optimism network and related Superchain networks.
Users lock VELO to receive veVELO, a vote-escrowed position that lets them direct emissions to pools and in return earn the trading fees and incentives paid by those pools. Projects often offer incentives to attract votes and deepen liquidity for their own tokens. VELO is the reward token paid to liquidity providers. Velodrome is run by the same team as Aerodrome on Base.
