About Curve.Fi USD Stablecoin
crvUSD is a dollar-pegged stablecoin created by Curve Finance. Users mint it by depositing crypto collateral such as ether, staked ether or wrapped bitcoin and borrowing crvUSD against it, so every token is backed by more than a dollar's worth of crypto.
Its key feature is LLAMMA, a soft-liquidation system. Instead of selling a borrower's collateral all at once when prices fall, the protocol gradually converts it into crvUSD across a price range, and converts it back if prices recover. This aims to reduce the losses borrowers face in sharp market drops.
