About Hemi
Hemi (HEMI) is a modular network that treats Bitcoin and Ethereum as parts of one larger system rather than separate chains. It aims to let developers build applications that use Bitcoin's security and Ethereum-style smart contracts together.
A key component is the hVM, an Ethereum-compatible virtual machine that can read Bitcoin data directly, so smart contracts can react to Bitcoin transactions and balances. Hemi anchors its state to Bitcoin for added security and supports moving assets between the networks. The HEMI token is used for fees, staking and governance within the network, and it was distributed in part through a Binance HODLer airdrop.
