About Frankencoin
Frankencoin (ZCHF) is a decentralized stablecoin that tracks the Swiss franc. It was launched in 2023 and runs on Ethereum, with versions on several other networks.
ZCHF is created when users lock collateral in minting positions. Instead of relying on price oracles, the system uses auctions: anyone can challenge a position they think is under-collateralized, and the collateral is auctioned if the challenge succeeds. Collateral can include crypto assets and tokenized real-world assets. Governance is handled by holders of Frankencoin Pool Shares (FPS), who also absorb profits and losses of the system.
