About Syrup Token
Maple Finance (SYRUP) is the token of Maple, an on-chain lender that provides loans to institutions such as trading firms and market makers. Loans are overcollateralized by digital assets like bitcoin and ether, giving lenders a yield from real borrowing demand.
Maple's Syrup products, syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT, let anyone deposit stablecoins to earn that institutional lending yield in DeFi. SYRUP replaced the older MPL token in 2024 and is used for governance and staking, with part of protocol revenue used to buy back SYRUP for stakers.
