About SAND
The Sandbox (SAND) is a virtual world where players can create, own and monetize games and experiences using voxel-style building tools. It started as a mobile game and was rebuilt on blockchain by Animoca Brands, with major brands and celebrities buying land during the 2021 metaverse boom.
Land parcels and in-game items are NFTs owned by users. SAND is used to buy land and assets, pay for activities, stake for rewards and vote on governance. Like other metaverse projects, its user activity has been lower than many expected during the hype.
