About Frax Share
Frax (prev. FXS) (FRAX) is the main token of the Frax ecosystem, a set of stablecoin and DeFi products founded by Sam Kazemian. Originally named Frax Share (FXS) and used to govern the FRAX stablecoin, it was renamed FRAX in 2025 as part of a restructuring in which the stablecoin became frxUSD.
FRAX is the gas token of Fraxtal, Frax's own layer-2 network, and holders can lock it to receive voting power and a share of protocol revenue. The wider ecosystem includes frxUSD, the liquid staking token frxETH, and Fraxswap, a decentralized exchange.
