About tGBP
Tokenised GBP (TGBP) is a stablecoin designed to hold a 1:1 value with the British pound. It is issued by a firm registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority and is available on several blockchains, including BNB Chain, Solana, Avalanche and Polygon.
Each token is backed by cash and short-term UK government debt (zero-coupon bonds issued by HM Treasury), and holders can redeem tokens for pounds. TGBP is meant for sterling payments on blockchains, programmable transactions and settlement of pound-linked tokenized assets such as bonds.
