About Energy Web Token Bridged
Energy Web Token (EWT) is the native token of Energy Web, a nonprofit organisation founded in 2017 that develops open-source blockchain technology for the energy sector. The token first launched on the Energy Web Chain in 2019.
Today the platform's main network is Energy Web X, a proof-of-stake chain, together with off-chain computing services used to build tools for things like tracking renewable energy certificates and managing grid devices. EWT secures the network through staking, pays for services and rewards node operators. It also circulates as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, linked to Energy Web X by a bridge.
