About Decentraland MANA
Decentraland (MANA) is a virtual world built on Ethereum where users can buy land, build experiences and meet others as avatars. It launched to the public in 2020 and was one of the most prominent projects of the metaverse boom of 2021, when brands and celebrities bought virtual land and held events there.
Land parcels and wearable items are NFTs owned by users, and MANA is used to buy them in the Decentraland marketplace. MANA holders also vote in the Decentraland DAO on policies and grants. User activity has been well below the levels promised during the metaverse hype.
