About API3
Api3 (API3) is the token of Api3, an oracle project launched in 2020 that delivers off-chain data such as price feeds to smart contracts. Its main idea is first-party oracles, where data comes directly from API providers running their own oracle nodes rather than from third-party middlemen.
Api3 also works on Oracle Extractable Value (OEV), which lets applications recapture value from liquidations that would otherwise go to outside bots. The project is run by the Api3 DAO. API3 holders stake tokens in the DAO pool to vote on governance and earn staking rewards.
