About Chroma
Chromia (CHR) is a layer-1 blockchain developed from technology created by ChromaWay, a Swedish company that originally built a system called Postchain for enterprise clients. The CHR token launched in 2019.
Chromia's main idea is a relational blockchain: data is organised much like in a traditional SQL database, and developers write applications in Rell, a language created for the platform. Each decentralized app runs on its own sidechain anchored to the main chain, which lets apps scale independently and set their own fee models. CHR is used to pay for hosting and network resources, for staking by node providers, and in governance.
