About Falcon USD
Falcon USD (USDF) is a synthetic dollar created by Falcon Finance. Users can mint USDF by depositing a wide range of assets, including stablecoins, major cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ether, and some tokenized real-world assets. The protocol aims to keep USDF at one dollar by keeping it over-collateralized.
Falcon manages its collateral with market-neutral strategies designed to earn yield without taking on price risk, such as funding rate arbitrage and staking. Users who stake USDF receive sUSDF, which grows in value as that yield is passed on.
USDF is part of a newer group of yield-bearing synthetic dollars. Its risks differ from fiat-backed stablecoins and include strategy, custody and collateral risks, which Falcon aims to limit with over-collateralization and an insurance fund.
