What is Layer 2?
A network built on top of a Layer 1 that bundles many transactions together to make them faster and cheaper.
Rollups such as Arbitrum, Optimism and Base execute transactions off the main chain and post compressed results back to Ethereum, inheriting much of its security. Moving funds between a Layer 2 and its Layer 1 goes through a bridge.
