About apxUSD
apxUSD (APXUSD) is a synthetic dollar from the Apyx protocol, which describes itself as a dividend-backed stablecoin. Its collateral is preferred shares issued by digital asset treasury companies, publicly listed firms that hold crypto on their balance sheets and pay monthly cash dividends on their preferred stock.
apxUSD is overcollateralized and itself pays no yield; users who want income lock it into apyUSD, a vault that grows in value as dividends are collected. The design brings traditional equity income on-chain, but it depends on those companies continuing to pay dividends.
