About Pendle
Pendle (PENDLE) is a DeFi protocol that lets users split yield-bearing assets into two parts and trade them separately. A deposit such as staked ether is divided into a principal token (PT), which can be redeemed for the underlying asset at a set maturity date, and a yield token (YT), which collects all the yield the asset earns until then.
Buying PT works like buying a discounted bond and locks in a fixed return, while buying YT is a bet that yields will be higher than the market expects. Pendle's own AMM is built for assets whose value changes as maturity approaches. PENDLE holders can lock their tokens as vePENDLE to vote on reward distribution and earn a share of protocol fees.
